Join Amy on Mondays for an all new Yin- Yasa yoga class which incorporates the yin and yang of yoga. Not to be confused with Yin Yoga. This class is designed to move the body and burn off excess energy (Yang), and then wind down to a deeper state of relaxation with grounding postures (Yin) as you prepare for your evening. You’ll start class running through sun salutation’s and standing postures, generating heat in the body and again, either burning off excess energy or creating enerYin gy for a more restful sleep. The second half of the class will be a combination of restorative floor postures. Yin Yoga is a slow-paced practice focused on applying moderate stress to the connective tissues – tendons, fascia, and ligaments – with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. Most stretches and poses are mat based and tend to be held for longer periods of time. This meditative approach to yoga helps cultivate awareness of one’s inner stillness. Amy will incorporate pranayama (breath) practice as well as a longer Savasana with yoga nidra (guided meditation) during the class. It’s just the right amount of movement at the end of the day!
