SUMMARY:Anatomy and Asana: Yoga For the Hips with Stacey Munoz
DESCRIPTION:The hip and sacroiliac joints are part of every movement we do in locomotion (any sport\, walking\, standing or sitting). The stability of these joints helps us to move more efficiently. Flexibility in this area can be challenging. All of the muscles surrounding our pelvis\, sacrum and femur (thigh bone) must lengthen/stretch to accomplish these movements without extra effort or pain. Lack of flexibility or stability/strength can cause a variety of physical conditions. These areas of emphasis will be covered thoroughly as we explore yoga asana in the center of gravity\, our lumbo-pelvic-hip complex. Register: staceyjmunoz@hotmail.com

SUMMARY:The Kumbha Mela
DESCRIPTION:An interactive presentation of yoga practice\, breath and meditation about and for the Kumbha Mela. The Himalayan Institute's Pilgrimage to the Kumbha Mela\, lead by Pandit Rajmani Tigunait\, Spiritual Head. An informal interactive evening with Shelly Craigo\, including practices from Living Tantra and an invitation to join in the Year-Long Group Meditation Every 12 years for millennia\, the time returns when the planets\, constellations\, and other celestial bodies are perfectly aligned\, creating a powerful vortex of spiritual energy at the confluence of three holy rivers in Allahabad\, India.  This energy is further intensified by the collective consciousness of saints and sages\, and pilgrims\, who gather here with a single shared intention: inner healing and lasting positive change. While the interplay of the forces of light and darkness brings about change - both within and outside us - our intentions\, when put into practice at the right time and in the right manner\, are a powerful influence or antidote. Hear more about how we can use the Kumbha Mela as an opportunity to change the course of our destiny and the destiny of the planet - and how you can take part.
