Does your group need a speaker for it’s regular meeting, or are do you have an upcoming
event that you need a speaker for? Kathleen Kelly is an experienced public speaker and can engage your audience with a variety of topics. Her passion for healthful living will inspire your guests. Subject matter includes:

Back and spine health and alignment

Wellness, mental and physical, is affected by our back and spine health. Learn how yoga can help keep your spine in alignment, relieve back pain, and make significant improvements in flexibility, strength and endurance. Yoga’s breath work and meditation techniques also help reduce stress, relaxing the muscles that may affect back pain. Whether traditional yoga classes are participated in, or gentle yoga, yoga can help with the spine.

With many jobs requiring hours of sitting, the muscles of the hip flexor can shorten. This tightens the hips and can cause pain. Yoga uses several hip-opening poses that stretch the hip flexor, strengthen the muscles, and open up the joints. These poses can provide relief, and prevent further problems. Learn how you can use yoga to improve your hip health. Attendees will leave with the knowledge of simple yoga poses that can help them when practiced regularly.
Breathing Practice − Pranayama

Prana means vital life force and Pranayama is the technique of controlling the breath (vital to life). Pranayama breathing practices are done through the nostrils and have many benefits. Pranayama teaches the proper way to breathe which uses more of the lungs and this brings more oxygen to the body and helps it function better. It can help fight stress, reduce toxins and can help in the body’s digestion. It should be noted that Pranayama should be learned through a professional yoga instructor as it requires proper peparation. Kathleen will demonstrate Pranayama breathing technique and teach attendees about how it’s helpful in handling everyday stresses.

Yoga Meditation

In yoga, meditation is the process of quieting a busy mind. The quiet is created when the body, mind and senses are balanced. This helps relax the nervous system. Meditation requires a proper posture, controlled breathing and possibly Contact us to learn more or schedule Kathleen to speak focusing on an object or chanting. Meditation can  relieve/manage stress, teach self-awareness and help us to let go of the negative things in life. If you’d like to learn to be still and bring inner strength to your life, this program is for you.

Yoga Philosophy

Yoga philosophy is having the mind, body, and spirit come together as one and cannot be clearly separated. It also includes deeper understanding of yoga traditions, wisdom, spirituality and how to strengthen your own yoga practice. Yoga philosophy also focuses on the 5 Yamas which can help you create self-awareness and a sense of peace. These 5 Yamas are: Ahimsa (non-harming), Satya (truthfulness), Asteya (non-stealing), Brahmacharya (moderating the senses) and Aparigraha (non-possessiveness). For an overview of how yoga serves to unite body, mind and spirit, and refreshes life, this is the speaking engagement that covers it all.
