This 8-week yoga program is designed especially for the beginning student. The course will introduce the practice of yoga asana in an organized and accessible manner.
The Beginner’s Guide to Yoga Movement ushers in “yoga newbies” into the foundations of yoga practice in a safe & welcoming environment.
After a mere two months of study, participants will have the necessary knowledge and skills to enjoy the vast offerings of yoga classes at Bay Area Yoga studio confidently.
Kathleen will also share basic anatomy lessons and yogic breathing methods. This class is uniquely designed to work with students of all ages, body types, and varying degrees of flexibility.
We will guide you step by step through each class, focusing on:
• Breathing techniques.
• Healthy movement and alignment for the joints in the foundational postures of yoga asana.
• Use of props and blankets
• concentration and focus of the mind.
This class is recommended for not only the new student but for yoga practitioners at any level!
