American Sanskrit Institute course offering, you will enhance your understanding of the mouth positions and use of the palate in the formation of sound through chanting and continued study. The first day will be devoted to reviewing Level I and refining your understanding of the alphabet and vowel/consonant combinations. Day 2 will cover consonant combinations with an emphasis on reading and writing the Devanagari script.The 14 hour Sanskrit Training is an educational adventure that will give you a permanent connection to the beauty and energy of Sanskrit as well as a dynamic model of yoga in the classroom that supports a natural and effortless focus. By the end of a weekend, you’ll be reading Sanskrit in its original Devanagari script, savoring precise pronunciation and gaining access to the ancient wisdom of yoga encoded in this sacred language.
Teachers will receive 14 hours of Yoga Alliance continuing education hours.
This is an experiential rather than academic workshop. Participants will develop their visual, audio, sound and vocal senses and abilities. A minimum of 5 students is required to offer the workshop. Class size limited to 10, unless in a yoga teacher training setting. No yoga experience is required or expected!
Fee for the program is $250.

Jenny Tumas eryt500, yacep has been teaching yoga since 2001, and after studying Sanskrit since 2011 with her teacher Zoe Mai, has been leading Sanskrit Immersions for The American Sanskrit Institute since 2016. Her studio, Marigold Yoga, was in operation from 2007 to 2016. Now a resident of Bayfield, Wisconsin, she teaches in the local community and travels to offer Sanskrit immersions for studios and yoga teacher training programs.
