Welcome Back – Studio Open

June 1, 2020 - June 30, 2020

Dear Friends
The time has come for the Bay Area Yoga Center to re-open our doors! Thanks to all of you who took the time to reply to our survey. Your input was invaluable in helping me plan our opening! I have been working diligently to make sure our studio is a safe and comfortable place for you to practice in. As we gear up to reopen on June 1, we want to share our new guidelines with each of you. Our new guidelines will ensure that we can practice safely together for in-person classes.

For now, everyone must register in advance for all classes- in person and LiveStream. This allows us to limit contact during check-in and also guarantees your spot for the class. Our class sizes will be limited so we can properly practice social distancing. Please know, we cannot guarantee your spot will be available if you drop in without registering. If you’re new to using MINDBODY, please call the studio, and we can help you get access to your online account.

If you register for an in-person class and you don’t show, you will lose your class credit. If you have a monthly unlimited or annual pass, you will have to pay the drop-in fee. Please cancel your registration if you can’t make a class you’ve already signed up for or notify the studio at least 3 hours before if you aren’t attending a class so that we can open up your spot to someone else. Due to our limited class sizes, it’s important that you show up so that we can pay our teachers for their time or we can allow another student to attend.

We will continue to offer LiveStream classes in addition to in-person classes to give you the flexibility to practice how you want, not just during this time, but long term. Be sure to check the schedule carefully to make sure you register for the right class. All LiveStream classes are marked in the class name.
When you arrive, please wait to enter. There should be no more than two people in the lobby at a time.
When you arrive at the studio, please use the hand sanitizer that is available in the lobby.
We are no longer using the class card system. When you arrive please check-in at the desk, and your teacher will sign you in.
Our teachers will be wearing masks during check-in and when in the common areas. We ask that if you’re able to wear one that you also do for check-in. Our teachers will not be wearing them while teaching, and they are not required by you during yoga practice.
We’re marking the floors with tape so you know where to put your mat to maintain the CDC-recommended six foot distance between practitioners.
We ask during this time to try to limit the number of items you bring into the studio.
We will be sanitizing surfaces between classes, including the front desk, door handles, practice floors, and common areas.
We will not be offering yoga mats in the studio at this time; please bring your own.
We will be sanitizing all props after classes, and they will not be available again for 48 hours.
Even though we’re sanitizing all props, we encourage you to bring your own if you have them. We have extra props and mats on hand at our studio in the retail area for purchase.
In the warmer weather, we will be offering as many outdoor classes as possible. Please remain a safe distance away from each other. The practice spaces will be marked so you will know where to set up your mat for practice.
As much as we love to hang out with some of you and chat after class, we ask that when class is over that, you exit the building. This will allow the teacher to have time to clean the studio. We will have chairs set up outside so you can linger and visit in the open air with the desired distancing to make everyone feel comfortable.
If you’re feeling sick, or suspect you have come into contact with someone that has COVID-19, please, stay home.

Thank you so much for your support and patience as we navigate this new normal together. We can’t wait to see you next week in either an in-person class or LiveStream class! If you need help, please contact me at 920-265-2217. I will be very happy to get you set up for all the avenues of practice!

We are looking for help to get our outside campus ready for practice. Any help that you could offer this week is greatly appreciated. Contact Kat @ 920-265-2217 if you can donate a few hours of your time. We are also looking for native plants to enhance our gardens. Mostly sunny varieties. Big thanks!

With gratitude and love to all!
